Washington D.C -

We had 3 nights with ex Wellington family the Dawes in Bethesda, Maryland which is on the edge of D.C. Our first day we caught the metro train into The Mall and walked around the various monuments, the Smithsonian and went up the Washington Monument. The day was sunny with lovely blue skies but a cool 5 degrees so coats and gloves were necessary for the first time. Debbie our hostess did a fabulous job providing great home cooking for 10 of us around the table at night - no easy feat and much appreciated.
