Five go wild on the World

The New Zealand family of 5 go travelling freestyle around Europe and the USA for 8 months.

After Giverney we drove to Brittany or Bretagne in French. We had booked a 3 bedroom mobile home/trailer for a week via Ebay for 200GBP ($600 NZ) for the week. It was an onsite trailer owned by a British family who now live permanently in France. We had never stayed in this sort of accommodation before so were unsure what to expect however it was fine and suited us very well. The trailer was in a lovely landscaped park which had about 300 of these homes. There was also an indoor and outdoor pool, kids club, playground, board games for the kids to borrow etc etc. The site was very quiet and the weather was good so we could sit on our deck attached to the trailer and relax. The trailers have a full size oven and fridge/freezer, microwave, gas fire, TV and all crockery was provided. We had to take our own linen but used our sleeping bags. I would certainly stay in this sort of accommodation again as ideal for a family at a low cost. I don't know however that New Zealand has this sort of short term rental accommodation but will look into it. It was great to have cooking facilities after our camping stint and the grocery prices in France are very reasonable and in a lot of cases cheaper than New Zealand. We loved all the wines, bread and smelly cheeses and salamis.
