Alamogordo to Albuquerque, New Mexico
We had a night in Alamogordo and visited White Sands National Monument which has the largest gypsum dunes area in the world. The kids enjoyed rolling down the dune faces gathering great deposits of sand in their hair.

Then to Albuquerque where we had 2 nights visiting the 'Old Town' with its gorgeous adobe buildings and churches and then on to see the petroglyphs (rock drawings) at Petroglyphs National Park. There were snow deposits all around Albuquerque from 2 weeks earlier when they had 2 feet of snow fall. The kids were disappointed however not to see mountains of fresh snow but more on that to come.....
